Bilaspur : A quarterly meeting of the Local Level Committee under the National Trust Act, 1999, was held at the bachat bhawan, District Headquarters, on Monday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that the district administration is actively facilitating the issuance of disability certificates to eligible persons with disabilities (PwDs). So far, 7,325 PwDs have been registered, and 5,611 digital Universal Disability Identity (UDID) cards have been issued.

He directed the concerned departments to ensure that all remaining eligible beneficiaries receive their UDID cards without delay. He further emphasized the importance of timely processing of all new applications, ensuring that no eligible individual is deprived of the benefits.

Additionally, the DC stated that legal guardians have been appointed for 107 persons with disabilities in the district so far. He instructed the concerned department to expedite the process of appointing legal guardians, stressing that it is essential to ensure the welfare and accessibility of support services for PwDs.
